2023 Comprehensive Plan

The Town of Hickory Creek is excited to announce the adoption of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan. Our updated Comprehensive Plan will be used as a blueprint for the Town to achieve a future that reflects our aspirations and needs. Economic Development

The Hickory Creek Economic Development Corporation (EDC), a non-profit organization, was formed on July 31, 2003 following a February 1 vote approving a 0.5% 4B sales tax by the residents of Hickory Creek. The EDC has a 7-member board.

The town’s 4B funds must be expended in accordance with State Law to facilitate the development of eligible projects. The responsibility of the EDC is to use these funds for economic development that will attract and retain primary employers and for quality of life improvements.

Lake Cities Fire Department and Fire Engine Fire Services

The Lake Cities Fire Department is a progressive organization located along the Interstate 35 corridor in Denton County. We protect Corinth, Hickory Creek, Lake Dallas, and Shady Shores. Our fire district is approximately 30 square miles with a population of about 30,000. Lewisville Lake surrounds our South border, and Denton surrounds the North border. We currently operate out of three fire houses and a headquarters building.

Colleges

North Central Texas College is located 5 minutes away in the city of Corinth and offers 2-year degrees and certificates of completion. NCTC was established in 1924 and has since grown to a full-service community college.

Parks & Trails

The Town of Hickory Creek offers access to 7 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Parks on the shores of the most popular lake in Texas, Lake Lewisville (see map and locations below).

Arrowhead Park, Harbor Lane Park, Sycamore Bend Park and Point Vista Park are maintained and operated by the Town of Hickory Creek through a lease agreement with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
