Located on one of Texas’ most popular lakes, Lake Lewisville, the Town of Hickory Creek is a generous blend of parks and nature trails, bustling subdivisions and family farms, boat ramps and businesses. Residents enjoy the combination of a relaxed, small town atmosphere and a thriving business district. Just 30 minutes north of Dallas, Hickory Creek is a progressive area that maintains its picturesque surroundings.
Residential Development
The population of Hickory Creek has grown from 219 at its 1963 incorporation to 3,247 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. The 2015 projected population was over 4,000 people. The availability of residential housing has also grown in the last several years and is continuing to grow Hickory Creek. Past developments added the subdivisions of Shore Haven, Lakeview and Glenview. Recent residential development is now adding to our community:

Commercial Development
Commercial development has also exploded, which has helped Hickory Creek maintain one of the lowest property tax rates in the Lake Cities area. Hickory Creek is home to Carmike Theater, Wal-Mart, Sports Clips and Sherwin Williams. Restaurants include:

Retail Growth
The Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge and DCTA light rail, which opened in June 2011, brought additional retail growth. Major infrastructure improvements such as the now underway expansions of FM 2181 and I-35E will continue to grow Hickory Creek’s commercial base.
