Registering to Vote

In order to vote in Texas, you must first register. There are many ways to register. No matter which way you choose, your county’s voter registrar must receive your application at least 30 days before an election.

  • In-person - Denton County Elections Administration, 701 Kimberly Drive, Denton, Texas, 76208.
  • By mail -  Pick up a voter registration application from public libraries or government offices and mail to Denton County Eelctions Administration.
  • Online - Fill out your voter registration application through the online portal here, then print, sign, and mail to Denton County Elections Administration.

You are eligible to register to vote if:

  • You are a United States citizen.
  • You are a resident of the county where you submit the application.
  • You are at least 18 years old on Election Day.
  • You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation and parole); and
  • You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
