Chris Gordon
Hey, I'm Your Councilmember!
I’ve been proud to serve as a volunteer Hickory Creek Councilmember since May 2007, and thanks to your support, I’ve been re-elected year after year. For 18 years now. It’s been my privilege to serve this incredible community. Whether it’s helping with local concerns, pushing for improvements, or just being there to listen, it’s all about making Hickory Creek the best place to live!
I’m constantly working on the issues that matter most to you, from driving smart growth to negotiating the best deals for our town with TX DOT and project bidders. I'm always up for a challenge, and I promise to keep working hard to make sure Hickory Creek continues to thrive in the right way. I work well with our County Commissioner, State Rep and County Judge ach year during Denton County days in Austin at the capital.
Community and Beyond
I’m all about staying active and involved! My family and I call the Lakeview at Pointe Vista neighborhood home, and fun fact: I was the very first homeowner on the developer board of directors (we set the standard, folks!). I earned my degree in Animal Science and Organic Chemistry in 1995, but these days, I work as the Director of Sales and Marketing for American Communications, a Public Safety company.
When I'm not working or volunteering, you’ll find me giving back in every way I can. I serve as a Board Director and Treasurer for the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce, and I’m a Director on the Denton County United Way Workforce Leadership Task Force. I’ve also served on the school board for my daughter’s private school. And because I’m a big believer in helping out when it counts, I’m certified in search and rescue and disaster relief with the Denton County CERT team.
And let’s not forget my favorite pastime—softball every Friday during the five seasons of the year! It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and have fun. We even recently started enjoying PickleBall.
Family Life & Community Spirit
At home, my wife, Jennifer, is the owner of Quick Ship Mail and Business Center, which serves the Lake Cities area, and she’s always giving back to our community, too. She’s an alumni volunteer for the Lake Cities Fire Citizens Academy and used to coach for the Lake Cities Soccer Association. Jennifer also has served as an elected official for the Lake Cities Municipal Water Authority—talk about a powerhouse couple haha!
Our daughter, Emma, born in August 2006, is our greatest joy and keeps us on our toes. She is a Freshman now, headed to nursing school. Together, we also own The Cowboy Carwash and Cowboy Twice the Ice, helping keep the Lake Cities clean, shining and cool.
