Paul Kenney
I was first elected to the Hickory Creek Town Council May of 2008, then re-elected in May 2010, May 2012, May 2014 and May 2016. I have served as Mayor Pro Tem since July 2015. In addition to my council duties, I have served as council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board and the Board of Adjustments. I also served on the EDC board from 2011-2013. Currently I serve as the liaison to the Planning and Zoning commission, the Friends of Hickory Creek 501 (c) 3 and co chair of Hickory Creek Helping Hands.
Education & Experience
I graduated from New Mexico State University with bachelor's of Business Administration with a major in Marketing while completing the Professional Golf Management Program. I have been employed in the golf business since 1994, with my most recent stint as the General Manager at Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie, Texas. Since 2016, I have transitioned to working with the land development company (Herzog Development) who owns the golf course. I have owned and sold businesses in the fitness industry (DFW), the dry cleaning industry (New Mexico) and currently I am partner in a plantation shutter company in the local DFW area.
With my past management experience and business ownerships(past and current), I make daily decisions that are researched, educated, tough and fair for all sides involved. I will always do the same for the future decisions about our Town of Hickory Creek. I have learned the town is very productive when we all work together (citizens, council and staff). I am excited about the future of our town and look forward to serving this great community while making a positive impact for the citizens.
Personal Life
My wife (Bry Kenney) and I have enjoyed Hickory Creek for over 16 years now. We are blessed and honored to have two wonderful kids (16 & 12 years old) who know Hickory Creek as their only place to have lived and grown up in.
