Congratulations to Sgt. Miller!!

The Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce honored Hickory Creek Police Department Sergeant Miller at yesterdays luncheon as their First Responder of the Month for May 2019. We are proud to have Sgt. Miller as part of the Hickory Creek Police Department!!

From the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce:
Congratulations to Sgt. Michael Miller who has been with the Hickory Creek Police Department since 2008 and received the Edward Jones 1st Responder of the Month Award for May 2019 at the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce luncheon. He has always been a reliable and knowledgeable officer, and since being promoted to Sergeant in 2017, Michael has really made a positive impact on the department and the officers. His positive attitude, willingness to volunteer early and often and his servant leadership is inspirational to us all and sets a very high standard.

Currently, Sgt. Miller is responsible for managing two patrol shifts. He’s been the Training Coordinator for many years where he ensures all department members are training according to the requirements set forth by the state and federal regulations as well as finding the training for specific officer needs and desires as well as the needs and goals of the department as a whole.

Sgt. Miller is the Citizen Policy Academy Coordinator responsible for the organization, scheduling, and curriculum development of all citizen-related training offered by the department. He is also the senior member of the Department Police Review Board, who spends a vast amount of time reading, reviewing and researching current and proposed policies.

Finally, in addition to all this, he still manages to be a working patrol officer, consistently performing at a level placing him at the top of the overall activity list every month, and he is also continuing his knowledge and development by pursuing his graduate degree having recently been accepted into the prestigious and rigorous Texas Christian University Leadership, Executive, and Administration Development Criminal Justice Development Graduate Program.

Join us in celebrating Sgt. Miller!!!
