WHEN: 8 a.m., Sunday, July 9
WHERE: East- and westbound Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive at I-35E
HICKORY CREEK,Texas – The east- and westbound Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection at I-35E north of Lewisville Lake is scheduled to open at 8 a.m., Sunday, July 9.
When open, the intersection will have one lane in each direction and a designated turn lane in each direction. The north and southbound frontage roads will meet at a signalized intersection on either side.
The northbound-to-southbound U-turn will open with the rest of the intersection while the southbound-to-northbound U-turn will open in August.
PLEASE NOTE: Once the east- and westbound Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection opens, the two-way condition on the southbound frontage road between Hickory Creek Road and Oak Drive will end. The southbound frontage road will be two lanes in one direction.
The new intersection replaces the South Denton Drive bridge that was demolished in July 2016.
This work is related to the 35Express project, the $1.4 billion expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County. All closures are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed, if necessary.
